Spur Jobs Creation
The Wall Street Journal newspaper recently convened over 12 chief executive officers of U.S. companies to discuss how to create jobs in the U.S. Among the things they identified were policies: to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship; to reform tax policy (not tax cuts) to emphasize hiring, savings and investment and discourage consumption and debt over the long term; to ensure the flow of credit to business and to avoid regulations that would discourage it; and, to emphasize small and medium-sized business.
Likewise, to create job in Prince George’s County, we must encourage more innovation and entrepreneurship locally and emphasize small and medium sized businesses.
- Step 6: Transfer technologies from the federal and other research institutions in Prince George’s County and the region;
- Step 7: Maintain, fine tune and speed up redevelopment plans for inner beltway communities with an eye to providing incentives and removing the roadblocks; and
- Step 8: Explore developing a geothermal heat pumps industry locally.
